The Buffalo Association for Self-driving Intelligent Laboratories and Interdisciplinary Convergent Autonomous Science

BASILICAS is a self-organized association of University at Buffalo researchers interested in self-driving laboratories (SDLs) and autonomous science.

What are SDLs?

SDLs are autonomous platforms that can carry out scientific experiments and reasoning with little human intervention.

Why SDLs and Autonomous Science?

SDLs have already demonstrated orders-of-magnitude speed-ups for scientific discovery. Funding opportunities are increasingly and explicitly calling for ideas in autonomous experimentation.

What is BASILICAS?

We are a group of UB researchers building or otherwise interested in SDLs and autonomous science. Our goal is to position UB as a hub and authority in this space.
